IThe firm

Local in execution, national in standard.

M/s Angaraj Hazarika is a Guwahati-based civil construction contractor founded in 2014 by its proprietor, Mr. Angaraj Hazarika. Over twelve years the firm has executed more than ₹31 crore of work across the Northeast — road construction, drainage, anti-erosion measures, boundary walls and infrastructure protection for railways and aviation.

The firm works both as a direct contractor to state and central government departments, and as a sub-contract partner to larger EPC firms delivering Government of India mandates. Clients include the Public Works Department (Roads) Assam, NF Railways, the Brahmaputra Board under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Food Corporation of India, Assam Agricultural University and the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department of Assam, alongside private principals such as O.P. Kandoi & Co. Pvt. Ltd. and Bhagya Traders.

From rural road reconstruction in Morigaon to airport drainage in Dimapur and anti-erosion works on the Umngi River, the portfolio spans some of the Northeast's most demanding terrain.

Road construction

Earthworks, embankments, GSB, WBM, ICBP paving, HP NP3 culverts, signage, reflective markers and routine maintenance for state and central PWD road projects.

VQuality and safety

Built to the awarding authority's specification.

The firm works to the technical specifications laid down for each project — typically MoRTH, IRC, IS codes and CPWD — and keeps a dedicated safety supervisor on every active site. There has been no reportable safety incident across the current ₹25 crore order book.

On quality

  • Materials testingAggregate, sand, cement and steel samples go to NABL-accredited third-party labs (Northeast SQC Centre, Guwahati) for batch verification before incorporation.
  • Method statementsIssued for each major activity — earthworks, GSB laying, ICBP, RCC works — and signed off by the principal contractor's site engineer before work starts.
  • Compaction and finishVerified through Proctor and field density tests to IRC specification. Non-conforming work is removed and re-laid at the firm's cost.
  • DocumentationProject diaries, daily progress reports and material reconciliation sheets kept on site and shared weekly with the principal.

On safety

  • Dedicated safety supervisorOne full-time HSE supervisor on every active site, with the authority to halt unsafe activity.
  • Protective equipmentHard hats, hi-vis jackets, safety boots and harnesses issued and replenished by the firm. PPE compliance is a precondition for site entry.
  • Toolbox talksHeld at the start of each shift, with content matched to the day's scope — excavation, height work, hot work, traffic management.
  • InsuranceAll vehicles and machinery insured; Workmen Compensation policies taken per project as required by the principal contractor.

The firm welcomes site audits, materials inspections and safety walkthroughs. All statutory records — labour licence, EPF challans, GST returns, vehicle RCs and CA certificates — are made available within 24 hours of a written request.

VIPlant and manpower

Owned plant, not rented availability.

Three core earthwork and haulage assets are owned and financed through Bank of Baroda, supplemented by hired plant per project. Manpower is sanctioned to fifty under the current contract labour licence.
